The Kabul daily summarised the report of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) about the violent incidents during a demonstration in Behsud district, saying that “security forces” killed 11 and injured 31 unarmed protestors “without [previously] using any riot control measures on the crowd” and using “direct fire” instead. It also said that demonstators had pelted stones at them before, and one protestor tried to fire with a machine gun on a “tank” [armoured car of the police] on them but was “neutralised.” The MoI also had to retract its original version of local militia/illegal armed group members among the protestors.
