Full interview with AAN’s Thomas Ruttig (in German) about the ‘peace process’ in Afghanistan, saying that the time frame given in the US-Taleban deal of February 2020 was “unrealistic” and solely due to “domestic considerations.” H says that thought the Taleban were tired of war was “wishful thinking” – “maybe on the individual bases, but not as an organisation.” Nevertheless they might think that negotiations were “the easier way to power.”
