The Handling of Complaints of Gender-Based Violence against Women and Girls by Afghanistan’s de facto Authorities

In this new report, UNAMA looks at UNAMA observed that the de facto authorities’ handling of complaints and cases of gender-based violence against women and girls in the context that after the Taleban takeover and their imposing of discriminatory restrictions on women and girls further heightening their vulnerability to gender-based violence, both in the public and private sphere. Due to “certain limitations on information-gathering,” UNAMA writes, “this report does not purport to provide a comprehensive overview, but rather a snapshot.”
