The Taleban have recently incorporated weaponised, commercially available drones into their arsenal. Franz Marty looks at how numerous, dangerous and effective they are – and finds their direct military “negligible” so far:
So far, the impact of weaponized Taliban drones on the Afghan battlefield has been negligible, as there have been only few such attacks that have, in almost all cases, caused little, if any relevant damage. This could, however, change.

What might be even more relevant than the direct impact of ammunitions dropped by drones is the psychological effect they can have on opponents.
