In German: As one of the few international media, the leading Swiss daily does not just reprint the claims about an alleged IS-Taleban collusion during the recent massacre in Sarepul province, but points out that if the allegation turned out to be true, it would constitute a serious shift in the Afghan conflict – adding that this, however, was unlikely, as both groups are regularly fighting each other.

Laut dem Bezirkschef von Sayad waren die Taliban und der sogenannte Islamische Staat (IS) gemeinsam an dem Angriff und dem darauffolgenden Massaker beteiligt. Sollte dies stimmen, wäre das eine massgebende Neuerung im afghanischen Konflikt. Dies ist allerdings unwahrscheinlich, denn die beiden Gruppierungen haben sich in Nangarhar, wo der IS über eine etablierte Präsenz verfügt, stets bekämpft.
