In this report, the analysis platform reports that, after the April 2025 suspension by Russia’s Supreme Court of the country’s ban on Taleban activities in Russia, a Taleban delegation attended the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025 (SPIEF) and agreed to bring 1,000 Afghan workers to regions in Russia. This marks the start of Afghan migrant labour legally sent to Russia, a process initiated by the Taleban more than a year ago.
