In this summary by the leading German news agency of the latest German deportation flight and the discussion around government attempts to reach a deportation agreement with the Taleban (while it denies more than ‘technical’ contacts with the regime), AAN’s Thomas Ruttig is quoted as saying (in German):
«Es ist inzwischen nicht mehr zu leugnen, dass die Bundesregierung Gespräche politischen Charakters mit dem Taliban-Regime führt, auch wenn sie weiter darauf beharrt, dass es sich lediglich um sogenannte technische Kontakte handele», sagt Afghanistan-Experte Thomas Ruttig.
