AAN’s Fabrizio Foschini on Germany’s main TV channel’s website about Afghanistan’s future development: ‘The worry I have is not a civil war in Kabul. The political elite will possibly be able to prevent that they fall out with each other completely and fires rockets at each other. I am worried about increasing violence in the rural areas, where commanders might start fightin for influence in certain areas. There, bad things can happen. […]. Much depends on the political development in Afghanistan. One also should of course not forget the role of the neighbouring countries. Or the question how strong the Afghan security forces will be. And: how strong will the insurgents be? But politics and the next elections will probably the most crucial tests.”
