After Resolute Support classified data about which side controls what territory in Afghanistan and censored the valuable SIGAR reports that has included these data, the policy website quotes from recent AAN analysis by Thomas Ruttig:
Indeed, the day before the latest SIGAR report was released, Thomas Ruttig wrote for the Afghanistan Analysts Network that “Tracking trends in security has become more difficult, as more areas suffering conflict have become inaccessible and those fighting – both Afghan and international – less transparent.”
