Commenting on Afghan president Karzai’s visit to Islamabad and the renewed vows for cooperation between the two countries towards a peace negotiation for the Afghan conflict, the Pakistani newspaper quoted AAN’s Borhan Osman recent dispatch. The Tribune singled out Osman’s assessment that the Afghan government “wants its own channel to the insurgents, independent from the US”, and his warning that “Attempts to go through Pakistan are not new. Most similar moves have been unsuccessful in the end, though”.
