The German daily reports about the case of an Afghan man in German deportation arrest for an unauthorised short vacation abroad, to be extradited to Taleban-ruled Afghanistan. The article quotes AAN’s Thomas Ruttig reacting to an IOM statement saying that security in Afghanistan had improved, allowing the deportation of Afghan men:
„Auch wenn der Krieg vorbei ist, hat sich die Unterdrückungssituation im Land sehr zugespitzt“, sagt er. Die wirke sich natürlich auf die Sicherheit der Menschen aus. „Das Regime fußt auf Schrecken und Willkür. Man weiß nie, wann wer wo dran ist.“ Und auch die wirtschaftliche Situation sei desaströs, die Armutsrate liege bei fast 90 Prozent.
