AAN’s Thomas Ruttig looks at the new interim report of German parliament’s enquiry (enquete) commission on Afghanistan in this article for this left-leaning Berlin-based daily. The report looks relatively critical on the country’s contribution to the 2001-21 mission (“strategically failed”) but still contains enough traces of whitewashing, in order to trying to spare the various, changing political parties in charge of government over that period a complete embarrassment (in German).
