In this election primer by Giuliano Battiston for the respected Italian left-wing newspaper, AAN’s Thomas Ruttig is quoted as saying:
«La retorica sui tanti candidati giovani è molto diffusa ma è poco fondata», ci spiega Thomas Ruttig, direttore dell’Afghanistan Analysts Network. «Temo che il prossimo parlamento possa essere peggiore dell’attuale: il processo di democratizzazione si è indebolito, in questi anni. Sarà un parlamento centrato sul denaro, con molti uomini d’affari con un background jihadi», legato ai conflitti precedenti.
