Commenting on early results and turnout of the Afghan elections, AAN's Martine van Bijlert is quoted as saying:
“It’s a little bit of a rural-urban divide, but it’s more about who controls the area and how free people feel. If the people couldn’t vote but they see the outcome as representing more or less how they wanted to vote, it becomes less of an issue.”
